Every semester, American University offers film students the opportunity to study abroad at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague, Czech Republic. Many of our DeKas have spent a semester in Prague making films and learning about the craft.

 

Sheltered 

A little boy struggles to understand his parents' problems at the expense of his own childhood innocence. Directed by Sufian Abulohom ('17).

Pohovor

After a young woman's job interview goes poorly, she finds herself visited that afternoon by three strange women. Written and co-directed by Charlotte Miner ('17) and filmed and edited by Jonathan Shander ('17).

Rozalie 

A young girl finds her budding relationship with her girlfriend compromised by her conservative mother and a misunderstanding therapist. Assistant directed and edited by Emily Hall ('19).

Capture 

A photographer finds himself in over his head when he tries to track down the source of a mysterious photo. Filmed by Jess McGowan ('19) and edited by Allison Kraus ('19).

Leo celebrates his 8th birthday with his dad and his evil, manipulative grandmother. What starts as a nice celebration quickly turns sour in this dark comedy. Filmed by Danielle De Vito (’20).
